While her goal was to teach, this admirable aspiration merely served as a catalyst for Darlene Fox to realize an unexpected true calling... As she made her way through her college years, she struggled to pay for tuition, books, as well as room and board. She worked two jobs while attending school full time in order to earn a teaching degree; an experience that aptly led her straight to a career in a full time position working in the admission office of what was then an up and coming cosmetology school called Artistic Academy.
Some fifteen years later, Darlene has had a hand in assisting thousands of graduates achieve and pay for their education. As an active member of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools and by collaborating with the New Jersey State Board of Cosmetology, Darlene established Artistic Academy as a pioneer in the industry. Through her efforts, the school has led the way to a new day in education, a day in which no person would be left behind because of financial status. By working with federal, state and private organizations, Artistic Academy has offered hundreds of qualified students the chance to acquire an education by way of various financial aid subsidies including grants, loans, federal and state funding, scholarships, tuition waivers, and additional assistance through the Veterans Administration and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Follow your bliss is a motto by which Marlene Nucifora lives and works. By successfully incorporating what she refers to as her two true loves - namely educating and the ever-evolving field of cosmetology - she has forged a career for herself that is truly a labor of love. With more than twenty years of industry experience, Marlene utilizes her expertise to engage and enlighten students by teaching them to expect the utmost from themselves and the industry in which they work. In keeping, her favorite quote reads as follows, "The quality of a leader is reflected in the standards they set for themselves." It is a philosophy that she puts into play not only by setting a very high standard of quality and expectation for herself but also for the staff members at Artistic Academy and all of its students.
To hear Marlene tell it, "Expectation, after all, is the key to success. If you make people aware of your expectations of them, they will surely aspire to reach them. By setting the bar high you can be a part of helping people reach their potential. In other words, you can be a part of encouraging them to believe that if they work hard enough anything is possible." She enacts her philosophy everyday in her position as the Artistic Academy Director. It is in this environment that she is able to offer students the best possible education that the fields of cosmetology and aesthetics have to offer. She is driven by an endless desire to excite students through education and assist them on the road to becoming all that they can be.
