If you are a U.S. Citizen or an eligible non-citizen, to apply you must first complete and submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at https://fafsa.ed.gov/. The school will use the information from you FAFSA to determine how much aid you are eligible to receive. You may also get more information on our website under Financial Aid.

11.

What's the maximum amount I can borrow in loans?

The school will determine the loan type(s), if any, and the actual loan amount you are eligible to receive each academic year once your FAFSA is submitted and processed. There are limits on the amount in subsidized and unsubsidized loans that you may be eligible to receive each academic year (annual loan limits) and the total amounts that you may borrow for undergraduate and graduate study (aggregate loan limits). The actual loan amount you are eligible to receive each academic year may be less than the annual loan limit. These limits vary depending on

  • what year you are in school and

  • whether you are a dependent or independent student.

If you are a dependent student whose parents are ineligible for a Direct PLUS Loan, you may be able to receive additional Direct Unsubsidized Loan funds.

You may find more information on loan limits on our website under Financial Aid.

12.

When are student loans repaid?

After you graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time enrollment, you will have a six-month grace period before you are required to begin repayment. During this period, you'll receive repayment information from your loan servicer, and you'll be notified of your first payment due date. Payments are due monthly unless student is on approved deferment or forbearance. Students should contact their loan servicing lender with repayment questions.

The school’s Student Salon and Spa Clinic is a continuation of your program and is a requirement for your practical training; the student is not employed by the school. You may seek employment in a salon or spa of choice, however, per the NJ State Board of Cosmetology, if you choose to work in the industry your hours of employment may not interfere with the hours you are registered to be in school.
